Details

We are pleased to announce that The Leeds Library will be hosting a formal dinner at The Queens Hotel, City Square, Leeds, LS1 1PJ on Friday 21st September 2018 to celebrate our 250th anniversary and which coincides with our International conference. 

Members, non-members, friends old and new are welcome to what should be a truly memorable evening and celebration of The Library.

The celebrations will start at 7pm, with a red carpet welcome to the Ark Royal Suite and celebratory drink, followed by entry into the Queens Ballroom where a 3 course meal will be served with tea/coffee and chocolates, 1/2 bottle wine per guest is included.The after dinner speaker will be the renowned Yorkshire poet, journalist, playwright, and broadcaster Ian McMillan.

The bar in the Ark Royal Suite will be open all evening with Carriages from midnight, bar open until 1am.

Ticket costs are £50 per head and will be on sale until 24th August. Full tables of 10 people can be purchased at a discounted price of £450.

A special commemorative ticket will be sent out by post 4 weeks prior to the event.

Starter

A - Garden pea & mint soup (V)

B - Chicken liver pate, red onion jam, sweet brioche

C - Boccocini, fresh basil cherry tomato salad, pesto dressing (V)

Main

A – Breast of chicken, champ mash, baby corn, green beans, tarragon cream sauce

B – Pot roast feather blade of beef, candied carrot, buttered cabbage, red wine jus

C – Herb crusted coley filet, lemon caper herb crushed potato, seasonal vegetables, lemon cream sauce.

D – Wild mushroom, ricotta & spinach cannelloni, tomato red onion salad (V)

Dessert

A – Red Eton mess with crushed meringue and sugar glazed strawberries

B – Lemon tart, red berry compote

C – Baked soft centred chocolate fondant, vanilla ice cream, raspberry coulis

Followed by freshly brewed coffee or tea with chocolates

From the M1 and M62 take M621 to jct 3, follow the signs for the city centre. Go under the dark arches, railway bridge. Stay in the left-hand lane and at the top of the small incline, turn left and you will see the hotel on your left. Pull in in front of the property.
