Talking Histories: Extraordinary Women

Talking Histories: Extraordinary Women

Details

A special Talking Histories event in the run-up to International Women’s Day, focusing on the representation of women throughout history. Hear about how women have been depicted over the years and how their achievements have been both enabled and constrained. We’ll explore the dark legacy of gender inequality and highlight extraordinary women who created their own routes to power in male-dominated worlds.

If you'd like to make an evening of your visit to Left Bank Leeds, why not stay for LEFT BANK CINEMA: ORLANDO [https://leftbankleeds.org.uk/event/left-bank-cinema-orlando/] at 8pm? Loosely based on Virginia Woolf's novel, it follows Tilda Swinton as Orlando on a four-century long quest for love, first as a man, then as a woman. Just select the double bill ticket option when you buy tickets to get a discount. You can grab a drink and a snack from the bar in between events.

All money raised through this event will support the development of Left Bank Leeds Charitable Trust, (charity no. 1146734).

_Please note, we take photos at our events for marketing purposes. If you would prefer not to appear in our images, it is your responsibility to speak to a member of staff at the event, in order to seek out the photographer and inform them of your wishes._
