TNL: The Ella Playford Band

TNL: The Ella Playford Band

Details

Tuesday Night Live is Ella Playford and her band, who work collectively to sculpt songs that personify Ella’s compositions in a whole new way, whilst still obtaining the authenticity of her solo performance. The catchy rhythmic grooves which accompany the guitar are integral to putting depth and power behind the songs, with punchy and intricate bass lines that flow dreamily through the tunes, moving with the guitar, crafting parts which complement the harmony beautifully. This band is an exciting and promising venture for Ella, allowing her to experiment with different genres and broaden the flexibility of her music.

Ella Playford is an award-winning acoustic singer songwriter. Her sound is captivating and spine chilling: combining powerful vocals, intricate guitar lines and heartfelt lyrics to create pieces which radiate pure emotion and leave listeners pining for more.

Her debut EP Feel, released in February of 2019, beautifully showcases her signature stunning raw vocals, warm guitar tone, sparkling strings with a sprinkling of harmonies. Born and bred in Leeds, Ella’s love for music started at an early age with guitar, piano and vocal lessons. Ever since then, her passion for all things musical has grown into an undeniable talent.

Somewhere along the way, Ella also acquired a passion and talent for song writing which over the past few years has expanded into an ability to pen songs with her own emotional, clever, storytelling style of lyricism. Ella’s eclectic taste in music ranges from heavy rock and indie to acoustic folk and jazz and are clearly evident in her own work. Some of her biggest influences include Lucy Rose, Laura Marling, Tom misch and Jordan Rakei.

We have live music in Assembly Bar + Kitchen every Tuesday night from 8.00 – 10.15pm approx. ABK closes at 10.30pm.
