first direct arena is a major entertainment venue located in the vibrant city centre of Leeds, hosting live music, comedy, entertainment shows and sporting events.
Since opening in July 2013 first direct arena has already played host to international artists such as Elton John, Bruce Springsteen, Cirque Du Soleil and Stereophonics. This impressive line-up continues and events are now being booked into late 2014 brining the likes of Robbie Williams, Miranda Hart, Strictly Come Dancing and Gary Barlow to Leeds.
The Arena’s unique "super theatre" style configuration is designed to enhance the arena experience, with all seats facing the stage and high quality acoustics to provide the best sound experience in the UK. Spectators and performers alike, will enjoy a more intimate atmosphere with reduced viewing distances, relative to the venue which has a capacity of 13,000.
first direct arena is operated by SMG Europe. SMG is the world leader in venue management, marketing and development and also operate the Manchester Arena and Metro Radio Arena in Newcastle.

Children under the age of two are admitted free, expect for children's shows where the age limit may be lower.
Children without a ticket will not be allocated a seat and must sit on the parent's lap. Children aged 14 years and under are encouraged to purchase seated tickets. Any under 14s in the standing area must be accompanied by an adult.

By Car:
first direct arena is located next to the A58 (M) Inner Ring Road and from the Claypit Lane junction (A58) provides links out of the city centre to the east joining the A64 York Road, and to the south and west connecting to the M621 and other destinations within Leeds, and to the wider motorway network via the M62 and the M1.
By Public Transport:
Leeds City Station is a 10 minute walk from Leeds Arena and a major hub on the national, regional and local rail network providing connections to a wide variety of destinations.
On arrival at Leeds station, turn right out of the main entrance onto New Station Street and head onto Boar Lane. At the crossing head straight over onto Albion Street and pass the side of the new Trinity shopping centre. Keep walking up Albion Street and at the junctions with The Headrow and Great George Street head straight on. Walk past the Merrion Centre on your right and after Morrisons supermarket take the next right onto Merrion Way to the Arena complex.
