Walking Tours

Leeds is bursting with attractions, beautiful architecture and Victorian heritage, but can be easily explore on foot due to the compact city, making it perfect for a walking tour.

Blue Badge Guides cover Leeds and the wider area and have a breadth of knowledge, walks can be tailored to suit your interests.

Leeds Civic Trust can create bespoke tours to suit your needs. Or join one of their Supper Walks, an informative and enjoyable way to spend a spring evening in Leeds.

Leeds City Walking Tours run regular walks exploring the history of the city and discovering hidden gems.

Leeds Art Walk is a free monthly tour of exhibitions in Leeds, taking place on the first Wednesday of every month. 

 

History & Heritage

The Leeds Library is the oldest surviving subscription library of its type in the UK and was founded in 1768. A good way to sample the library is to attend a tour which are held on the first Saturday and the middle Wednesday of the month. 

On the Hidden Temple Newsam Tours learn how the servants got around the House unseen and follow the underground tunnel to get from one side of the building to the other. Find out what was kept in the cellars, who the Blue Lady was and what happened to poor Phoebe Gray? The tour is free with normal admission to the House.

Stadium Tours

Leeds United Stadium Tours give you exclusive access behind the scenes. Official Stadium tours at Elland Road include a visit to the player’s dressing rooms, the chance to walk up the tunnel and experience a feeling only known to Leeds United players. You can even take the Manager’s seat in the dugout!

Emerald Headingley Cricket Ground tours allows you access to restricted areas and gives you an insight into what happens on a daily basis and on match days at Yorkshire County Cricket Club. This experience encompasses the Museum and the Long Room in the East Stand; the Players’ Dining and Changing Rooms (subject to availability); the Media Centre (which offers a magnificent panoramic view of the cricket ground and the city of Leeds) and the new Emerald Stand.

 

Brewery Tours

Get behind the scenes of the brewing process with a tour at Northern Monk before sampling their ales in the refectory. 

Join North Brew Co at 3pm on Saturdays to walk, talk and enjoy some tasty beer.

Have a go at brewing your own cask ale with Quirky Ales Brew School.

Emmerdale The Tour
