Sound Leisure
Founded in 1978 by inventor and electrical engineer Alan Black, the company remains owned and run by Alan and his family, making it the oldest single-ownership jukebox company in the world.
From its foundation to the present day, Sound Leisure has remained a brave and forward-thinking organisation.
In the 1970s, we became the first British company to design, develop, and build a commercially viable jukebox platform. We went on to pioneer the early development of digitised music platforms in the 1980s and were responsible for the reintroduction of vinyl jukeboxes in 2016. Today, we remain a globally recognised and respected leader in our sector, with countless patents and industry-firsts to our name.
Our consistent success over a 40-year period, during which many long-established jukebox manufacturers such as Seeburg and Wurlitzer went out of business, is based on our ongoing commitment to developing better products and technologies and our unwavering dedication to high-quality British manufacturing.
We’ve carefully built our reputation and business over many years, and remain just as passionate, if not a little obsessive, about quality and the production process. Our success to date is entirely based on the innovation of our products and the exceptional standard of their design.
We continue to hand-build every jukebox in our UK factory, allowing us to develop our workforce’s skills. Here, the expert knowledge and guidance of our experienced senior team blends with the energy and passion of new apprentices and recruits.
We love the past, but always look to the future. Our jukeboxes reflect the iconic retro styling of the original 1940s and 50s models, but we give them a contemporary twist to ensure they fit seamlessly into modern homes.
We offer the widest range of jukebox models of any manufacturer, with a diverse selection of finishes, technologies, add-ons, and customisations to help you build your dream machine. We also run the world’s only ‘Custom Shop’ service, producing one-of-a-kind jukeboxes built to each client’s specific requirements.
When you purchase a jukebox directly from our factory showroom, you gain access to the very team that designed, developed, and built every single Sound Leisure Classic Jukebox. Our knowledge and expertise are unmatched; we know every cabinet type, mechanism, feature, add-on, nut, bolt, screw, and resistor inside out. So, if you’re thinking about buying a jukebox, why wouldn’t you give us a call?
Even better, why not visit us and meet the team? Step inside one of the few remaining British factories where skilled makers shape every detail by hand. At Sound Leisure, raw materials become jukeboxes that reflect the spirit of music, design, and engineering excellence. We’ll give you a guided factory tour so you can see firsthand the care, dedication, and passion that go into every Classic Jukebox. Our showroom also features a wide range of games room products and accessories, including pool tables, pinball machines, retro artwork, and neon signs. If you’re looking to put some soul in your home, we’ve got it covered.
