Start planning your trip to Leeds this Christmas

It may not be Christmas just yet, but it’s never too early to start planning that perfect short break, day out or catch up with friends; so take a look at what Leeds has lined up to keep you entertained this festive season.

Here in Leeds the countdown to Christmas starts with the Leeds Lights Switch On, which this year takes place on Thursday 7 November on Victoria Gardens. This spectacular event has something for all the family; live music, entertainment, a visit from Santa and the switching on of the city’s festive lights.

Leeds Christkindelmarkt on Millennium Square brings a continental festive atmosphere to the heart of the city from Friday 8 November to Saturday 21 December. This traditional German Christmas Market has decorated wooden chalet stalls with seasonal gifts, toys, decorations and the best in authentic German food and drink; as well as cosy indoor venues, entertainment and everyone’s favourite carousel ride The Golden Gallopers.

If it’s family entertainment you’re looking for, then why not make it a day to remember with Santa’s Breakfast at Leeds Christkindelmarkt in the Alp Chalet; there’s a special visit to each table and a gift for children. Enjoy the free children’s show each Sunday on the market stage and delight in the Festive Funfair in the surrounding streets each weekend
