Weaving in a Day
Add another string to your bow by learning a traditional craft technique used for HUNDREDS of years. This workshop is the perfect day for those who would like to explore weaving in a fun workshop, and produce their own piece of fabric to take away with them the same day! It could be for the front of a cushion cover, a folded purse, a wall hanging, placemats, or a table runner to name just a few ideas, the choice is yours. These days are aimed at those who are keen to have a go but maybe don’t want to learn too much technical information (yet!) They are a fun introduction to the basics of weaving on a loom whilst also producing your own unique piece of work, selecting from a range of yarns to create your own bespoke design. The looms will be set up ready, meaning you get to enjoy a whole day just weaving. Please note that there won’t be time within the workshop to sew up your weaving into a final product. We will be concentrating on the weaving within the workshop. You will be in a small class, maximum 6 participants, giving plenty of opportunity to ask questions and receive 1 to 1 support throughout the workshop as well as watching group demonstrations.
