Craignish Castle: Celtic Crafts workshop
Take part in historic Celtic crafts at Lotherton, as part of a series of events to complement the community co-curated exhibition Homes of the Gascoignes. Taking inspiration from the Gascoigne family’s Scottish residence, Craignish Castle in Argyll, this two-hour workshop will begin with a theatrical performance from our costumed tour guides. Gwendolen Gascoigne, and her lady’s maid, Sophia Rogers will share stories of Craignish Castle, the Gascoigne’s holiday home in Scotland. This will be followed by tea and cakes and a metalworking workshop with Euphemia Ritchie. You will decorate boxes in Celtic designs using the repousse and chasing techniques. Booking is required for this event and your ticket will include entry to the estate
