9th March 2024

Wherever the violinist María Dueñas, born in Granada in 2002, performs, she inspires audience and press alike. She is rightly celebrated as a talent of the century. The Spanish-Austrian musician not only impresses with her astonishing artistic maturity and a beauty of sound that is second to none, but also impresses with her self-composed cadenzas. Deutsche Grammophon hired her straight away after winning first prize at the Yehudi Menhuin Competition 2021 and awarded her an exclusive contract. Her first album is dedicated to Beethoven’s only violin concerto – the very work with which she will make her Pro Arte debut. At your side in Frankfurt: the City of Birmingham Symphony Orchestra with its newly appointed chief conductor Kazuki Yamada, who is the successor to Sir Simon Rattle.
