Workshop: Natural Beauty Products

  • Disabled toilets
  • On-site light refreshments
1st April 2020 - 1st April 2020

Learn how to make your own cruelty free, natural beauty products to use yourself or give as a gift. Join Emily Godfrey from The Secret Garden at this two-hour workshop, where you’ll create a body scrub, a face mask and two bath bombs from natural and organic ingredients. You can choose your own variants, from essential oils to dried botanicals and detoxifying clays, to create fragrant cosmetics tailored to your skin type and scent preferences. You’ll leave with all the information and skills you need to create more products at your own leisure with useful information on recipes and sourcing ingredients. Packaged up in beautifully labelled decorative paper, glass jars and aluminium tins, your handcrafted cosmetics will make a beautiful gift – or look lovely on your bathroom shelf if you can’t bring yourself to give them away! – Time spent working on her own allotment inspired Emily Godfrey to set up The Secret Garden. It was an opportunity to take a moment for herself. She began to experiment with the herbs and flowers she grew, creating products that captured this sense of relaxation and healing. Exhilarated by the creative process, Emily decided to look further afield for ingredients, from creamy cocoa butter to aromatic essential oils. She is committed to using ingredients that are ethically traded and sustainable with respect for land, communities and people. Emily’s handcrafted, small-batch products are created with self-care in mind – designed to nourish mind, body and soul. – _All money raised through this event will support the development of Left Bank Leeds Charitable Trust, (charity no. 1146734)._ _Please note, we take photos at our events for marketing purposes. If you would prefer not to appear in these, please let a member of staff know when you arrive so they can inform the photographer._
