Here’s how to get a FREE Lush magnesium massage balm and shower jelly with your Leeds Marathon medal

5th May 2026

Fresh handmade cosmetics company Lush is giving away free products on 10th May, to help Leeds marathon runners get back on their feet after the gruelling 26.2 mile race.*

The Lush store on Commercial Street will be giving away the brand’s new Marathon-exclusive Ouchy magnesium massage balm and The Good Hour shower jelly —inspired by the Lush Spa treatment of the same name—to marathon runners.

The new Marathon-exclusive product is the powerful Ouchy magnesium balm, which packs a punch with uplifting peppermint, bergamot, and wintergreen oils as well as some wonderful effective anti-inflammatory ingredients: Fresh turmeric and Baobab Oil.

Apply a small amount of cream to a specific area of pain or discomfort, massage in and then continue to work the cream into the sore area. Fuelled by magnesium so use twice daily to see maximum benefit. Use for ‘ouchy’ moments, like muscular aches and pains, but not on broken skin. Fun fact: Ouchy was invented by Lush co-founder and product inventor Helen Ambrosen, a 35-time Marathon runner!

Lush’s new The Good Hour shower jelly is part of a range of new Lush Spa-inspired products hitting the shelves this spring, with this one being inspired by the cool jelly discs used in The Good Hour Lush Spa treatment on tender areas to soothe them after they have been massaged.

Peppermint, spearmint and eucalyptus are refreshing and cooling—great for aches and pains, and muscular recovery post-exercise. Best used straight from the fridge or freezer, the Good Hour shower jelly was designed to emanate the feeling of being fresh from a Norway sauna or cold plunge!

All runners have to do to redeem their free running aftercare goodies is head to the Lush store on Commercial Street during the shop’s opening hours on 10th May 2026 (while stocks last) and show their Leeds marathon 2026 medal to a member of staff.

Magnesium is thought to alleviate joint stiffness, help aid recovery and delayed onset muscle soreness (DOMS) by aiding the body’s natural process of removing waste products after exercise, such as lactic acid – this makes it a great material to include in an invigorating bath – or a cool-down massage.

Race completers may be in need of a massage, so Lush’s firm pressure massages Tailor Made and The Good Hour have been created with exercise recovery in mind, and make a perfect post-run reward. The spa is tucked away above the shop floor at Lush Leeds on Commercial Street, with treatments starting from £40.

The Lush Spa is an oasis of calm on the high street, with immersive spa experiences designed to transform, rejuvenate and revive. Lush Spa treatments are all powered by Lush’s fresh, handmade products, combined with soothing touch, exclusive music, and a hint of surprise, to treat the mind and body and leave people feeling their best selves.

A little note from Lush co-founder and product inventor Helen Ambrosen who completed 35 marathons herself:

“You have completed your challenge. Now give yourself some TLC. Your body will thank you for it!”

For Leeds marathon medal holders only, 18+, available at the Lush store on Commercial Street 10th May 2026 during opening hours, while stocks last. No purchase or payment necessary to redeem. Eligible participants must present their medal to redeem. T&C’s apply*.
