Leeds-based events brand Mint has officially revealed the location of its highly anticipated new venue, Mint XL, set to open within the former PRYZM nightclub site on Woodhouse Lane in the heart of Leeds city centre.

Known for its longstanding contribution to the city’s electronic music landscape through Mint Festival, Mint Warehouse and the iconic former Mint Club, the brand is now embarking on its most ambitious venue project to date with the launch of a completely reimagined 2,500-capacity space.

At a time when much of the UK’s nightlife industry continues to face significant challenges, Mint XL represents a major investment in the future of live music, culture and nightlife, reaffirming Leeds’ position as one of the country’s leading destinations for contemporary music and events.

Currently undergoing an extensive redevelopment and full-scale renovation, Mint XL is being transformed into a state-of-the-art venue built around high-spec production, immersive experiences and forward-thinking programming. Located within the Merrion Centre, owned and managed by Town Centre Securities (TCS), the venue occupies a prominent city-centre position close to Leeds’ universities, transport links and thriving nightlife district.

Designed to seamlessly host electronic music events, touring live shows, brand activations, private hire and corporate experiences, Mint XL aims to bring fresh energy back into one of Leeds’ most recognisable nightlife spaces.

At the heart of the venue is a major commitment to sound and production. Mint XL will feature a newly installed Funktion-One Vero sound system throughout its main spaces, complemented by cutting-edge lighting, immersive visual production and bespoke room design.

The venue will officially launch on Friday 25th September with an opening party curated by renowned electronic music platform system., setting the tone for an ambitious inaugural season. Taking over the entire venue, the event will bring together some of the most respected and influential names in underground electronic music, including Craig Richards, Enzo Siragusa, Fumiya Tanaka and Sonja Moonear, alongside a carefully selected lineup of acclaimed artists from across the scene.

Also on the line up is none other than Francesco Del Garda, Truly Madly, Prosumer, Laidlaw, Rich NXT, Voightmann, Foehn & Jerome Kinso, Isabelle Koci and of course long standing residents Annie Errez & Bobby ODonnell

The opening event marks the beginning of a new chapter for Leeds nightlife, with Mint XL positioned to host a diverse programme of music-led experiences throughout the year.

While Mint XL represents the largest venue project in the brand’s history, the team remains committed to preserving the intimate atmosphere, community spirit and music-first ethos that defined both Mint Club and Mint Warehouse.

Mint also extended its thanks to Town Centre Securities and the Merrion Centre team for their support and collaboration in helping bring the project to life at the heart of Leeds city centre.

Further announcements regarding future events, programming and venue details will be revealed in the coming weeks.

NOW, MINT ENTERS A NEW ERA.

Speaking on the launch, the team at Mint said:

“Mint XL is a huge step forward for us as a brand. For years we’ve operated just outside the city centre through Mint Warehouse and previously Mint Club, so being able to bring something of this scale directly into the heart of Leeds feels incredibly exciting.
The vision for Mint XL has always been to create a fully versatile venue capable of operating at a much bigger level, from large-scale electronic music programming and touring live shows through to private hire, brand events and corporate experiences.
At the same time, one of the most important things for us was making sure we didn’t lose the intimacy and atmosphere that made Mint Club and Mint Warehouse feel special over the years. Even though the scale is bigger, the focus on experience, connection and music remains exactly the same.

We’re completely reimagining the space from the ground up with production, atmosphere and experience at the centre of everything. Leeds has such a rich nightlife legacy and we’re proud to be bringing new life back into a landmark city centre venue with a project of this scale.”

Charles Newman, Asset Management Director for TCS added:

“This is a fantastic new addition to our ever-expanding leisure offering at the Merrion Centre. Mint XL brings fresh energy and a high-quality, large-scale venue into the heart of the city.

Its location, right on the doorstep of Leeds’ universities and a dense student population, makes it ideally placed to become a key destination for both students and the wider city. We’re proud to support a project that continues to strengthen Leeds’ reputation as a leading UK nightlife and live events destination.”
