BBC RADIO ONE’S MYLO & ROSIE TO HEADLINE AS THE LIGHT TURNS BACK THE CLOCK TO 2001 FOR 25TH ANNIVERSARY CELEBRATION

Leeds city centre destination The Light is inviting visitors to step back to 2001 this weekend, Saturday 3 October, as it celebrates its 25th birthday with a free afternoon of live entertainment, competitions, giveaways and special offers.
Taking place between 12-6pm, the nostalgic birthday bash will transform The Light into a celebration of the year it first opened its doors, bringing together visitors, brands and the wider Leeds community to mark the milestone.
Leading the entertainment will be BBC Radio ONE’s favourites Mylo & Rosie, who will perform a live set packed with noughties classics and feel-good anthems throughout the afternoon, celebrating the music, culture and memories of 2001.
Throughout the day, visitors can enjoy a packed programme of birthday-themed activities, prizes and exclusive offers from participating restaurants and leisure venues across The Light. Guests will be treated to free birthday cake, have the chance to win fantastic prizes through a grabber game and spin-the-wheel competitions, and can take home a complimentary photograph keyring as a memento of the celebrations.
Walkabout performers and character acts will bring extra energy to the event, while specially created selfie spots will provide the perfect backdrop for capturing the occasion. Visitors can also enjoy refreshments from a pop-up bar hosted by Radisson Blu, adding to the festival atmosphere throughout the afternoon.
One of the standout giveaways comes from Haute Dolci, which is offering visitors the chance to win ‘Dessert for a Year’, with one lucky winner receiving a dessert every month for the next 12 months.
