Fabulous Planning Expands Inside Leeds Corn Exchange with New ‘Creative Garden’ Community Space

Independent, family-run business Fabulous Planning has announced an exciting expansion within the iconic Leeds Corn Exchange, unveiling a new, larger space on the concourse level.
Originally opening downstairs on the Piazza Level December 2024, known for its thoughtful approach to wellbeing, creativity, and everyday organisation, Fabulous Planning has grown from its original shop into an extended space designed to deepen its connection with the local community.
At the heart of the expansion is a renewed focus on the brand’s core ethos: creating a welcoming, home-like environment where visitors feel safe, supported, and inspired to navigate everyday family life, through Fabulous Planning’s specially designed product range. The new space has been created to reflect this, positioning the shop not just as a retail destination, but as an open “home” for its community.
A key feature of the expansion is the introduction of the Creative Garden; a cosy, calming community area where customers are invited to slow down, spend time, and reconnect with themselves. The space offers comfortable seating and access to newly launched creative Activity Boxes, encouraging visitors to relax, reflect, and engage in mindful, creative activities from Paper Chain Making to Junk Journalling and crafting. The Creative Garden has been designed as a gentle retreat from the pace of everyday life, offering what the team describes as “a space to fill your cup and water your inner garden.”
“Our vision has always been about more than products,” said the team at Fabulous Planning. “As a family-run business, we see our shop as an extension of our home one where our community is always welcome. With this expansion, we’re proud to offer even more space for people to simply be, especially during life’s more challenging moments.”
Fabulous Planning’s move reflects the continued growth of Leeds’ independent retail scene and reinforces Leeds Corn Exchange as a hub for creative, community-led businesses.
The team is now inviting local press, creators, and community members to visit the new space, experience the Creative Garden, and explore the expanded shop as part of their Grand Opening week (W/C 25th May) where customers can enjoy different incentives and offers each day.
Monday 25 — The Creative Garden is open!
• The official first day of the Creative Garden, open to all – booking available online and in-store. We’ll be offering a range of snacks and nibbles all day, including some other delicious treats from local makers!
Tuesday 26 — Lucky Dip Day
• A free Lucky Dip with all purchases, with prizes up to £39.95’s worth! Win a Build-A-Book, Gel Pens, or even a Bits n’ Bobs Bag!
Wednesday 27 — On Wednesday’s We Wear Pink
• Bring your inner-mean girl (and your best pink outfit!) and get 20% off all pink products in-store, one day only. *Not feeling the vibe? Your entire outfit doesn’t have to be pink, even just one item will do.
Thursday 28 — An Evening With Auntie Abs
• A fabulous evening with Auntie Abs, we’ll be journalling, chatting, having a great time, accompanied with delish food, drinks, and the most stationery filled vibes. (5pm — 8.30pm) Book your seat in-store or online.
Friday 29 — F.A.G Friday (alt. Title ‘F#G Friday’)
• Step into Pride Month early with Fabulous Planning as we celebrate being an LGBTQIA+ owned business. Sashay into store and make your very own Mini Pride Notebook, absolutely free – with no purchase necessary! One day only!
Saturday 30 — THE GRANDE OPENING
• Bring your fabulous self to the official opening of Fabulous Planning & The Creative Garden. Bright and early at 10am we’ll have free Ice Cream from the delicious Melting Point, goodie bags with stationery filled joy, and so much more!
Sunday 31 — Relaxing & Slow Sunday + Workshop!
• Unwind, relax, and get involved in a slower paced day of celebration, with Mama Fabulous.
