JUNE AT LEEDS HERITAGE THEATRES

Northern Ballet returns to Leeds Grand Theatre with their sparkling production of Beauty & the Beast – the perfect fairytale farewell before the theatre closes for the summer for maintenance. Over at City Varieties, the entertainment never stops, with unique drama performances, live music of all genres, and stand-up from some of the nation’s top comedians such as Rachel Parris, Troy Hawke, Al Murray, Jessica Fostekew, Sofie Hagen, Hugh Dennis and Steve Punt.

Tommy Blaize: 50 Years of Music: Fri 7 June

Tommy Blaize has one of the most recognisable voices in the UK. As the lead singer on Strictly Come Dancing for 20 glorious years, he’s sung live each week to up to 12 million people.

Now it’s time for the man with the golden voice to step out on his first, major, solo tour. Singing songs everyone knows and loves, and telling stories about the legends he’s worked alongside, expect a Strictly incredible evening.

Spirit of the Blitz: Sat 8 June

To mark the D-Day 80th Anniversary, we delve into the 1940s songbook for a tribute to the legendary stars who kept us smiling through our darkest days. Spirit of the Blitz recaptures the tenacious optimism of war-torn Britain.

Albert Lee: Mon 10 June

One of the most respected and renowned guitarists in music history, the Grammy Award-winning Albert Lee has worked with the likes of Eric Clapton, The Everly Brothers, The Crickets and Emmylou Harris over an illustrious career spanning 60 years.

Sancho & Me: For One Night Only: Wed 12 June

Sancho & Me: For One Night Only is a performance by Paterson Joseph, accompanied by Ben Park (Co-Creator, Musical Director), and delivered directly to the audience, part-improvised each night and built around his recent novel The Secret Diaries of Charles Ignatius Sancho.

Charles Ignatius Sancho was born on a slave ship on the Atlantic Ocean in 1729, yet he became a writer, composer, shopkeeper and respected ‘man of letters’ in 18th century London.

Girls Night Out: Sun 16 June

As seen on the BBC, brace yourself for this award-winning smash-hit Girls Night Out with Flat and the Curves, the comedy girl band that’s leaving a trail of sequins across the UK in 2024! This powerhouse, glittery cabaret is a fierce blend of outrageous vocals, rip-roaring humour and unapologetic horniness.

Let There Be House: Sat 22 June

This powerhouse of a show takes the audience on a magical journey of the greatest dance music vocal classics of the 90s with a stunning 10-piece band and three amazing singers at the top of their game, including Rachel Modest from The Voice UK. They’ll be performing the smash hits Show Me LovePut ‘Em HighEverybody’s FreeLola’s ThemeDo You Want It Right NowFinally, and many more.

Judy & Liza: Sat 29 June

Judy Garland and Liza Minnelli are back together again thanks to a sensational musical experience, Judy & Liza. This dazzling production tells the turbulent tale of Hollywood’s biggest stars against the backdrop of their infamous 1964 London Palladium concert. West End stars Emma Dears and Helen Sheals belt out their most famous hits with an uncanny resemblance, bursting with elusive star quality.
