Hope Pastures
Hope Pastures is a charity whose aim is to rescue horses, ponies & donkeys, who may otherwise end up neglected, or are already suffering from neglect. They offer help and support to equines in the community, and monitor the living conditions and situations of animals that give cause for concern. Often, animals who are taken in by us are heading on a downward spiral in their lives and desperately need intervention before things get worse for them.
As well as rescuing horses, Hope Pastures hopes to provide an environment where young people can learn directly about caring for horses in a natural setting. This interaction helps educate young people about animal welfare and social responsibility. By visiting the site and directly meeting the animals at the sanctuary, it is hoped to foster an environment where learning and understanding can take place. As much education as possible is provided, with information boards placed around the site about equine care and welfare, in addition to sharing information on social media and, in the community, speaking to horse owners and helping them make changes to improve their horses’ lives.
Hope Pastures is open Tuesday to Sunday, 10 am – 3 pm, and is closed to the public on Mondays (except Bank Holidays and school holidays), with free admission and free parking.
