Leeds Discovery Centre
Explore Leeds Discovery centre, our state-of-the-art museum storage facility, where the team care for 1.2 million objects.
From elephant skulls to a medieval log boat, mummy bandages and meteorites, the Discovery Centre offers a unique opportunity for hands-on exploration into the natural world, human history and ingenuity. Explore behind the scenes of the Museum and discover the Leeds collections up close and personal.
Researchers are very welcome to enquire about objects, conservation and handling items with their curatorial team. If you have an object at home that you’d like to know more about the centre can try to help you, otherwise they can organise handling sessions with students and groups.
They work with a range of community groups and are happy to book a tour or organise a session to fit your groups requirements.
This venue is a part of the Visit Leeds Culture Around Every Corner Campaign, celebrating the diverse and vibrant culture of Leeds. Find out more at https://www.visitleeds.co.uk/culture-around-every-corner/
