Northern Acoustics

Northern Acoustics are now open at Leeds Corn Exchange, situated on the Balcony they are proud to be Leeds largest stockist of Acoustic guitars. They accomodate all budgets from the basic starter guitar to a Custom Shop hand built Martin. They also stock a large range of Acoustic accessories including stings, capos, pics and cases.

The store is run by American-born Val Lichtenstein, who moved to the Caribbean when he was 32 to sell hi-fi equipment before working as a news and sports director for the national radio station. Whilst living in the Cayman Islands he not only commentated alongside football giant Pele and interviewed the Duke of Edinburgh, but met his future wife Christine, from Leeds and nine years ago decided to settle in West Yorkshire. An accomplished guitar player himself having picked up his first aged guitar 12 and played in bands throughout his life, Val decided turn his passion into a business and opened Northern Acoustics in the Corn Exchange in 2011, having bought the department from Northern Guitars on Call Lane.
