Thackray Museum of Medicine
Immerse yourself in the Thackray’s imaginative, interactive galleries, that bring the story of medicine to life. From the history of healthcare to the breakthroughs that shape the way we look after ourselves and each other today, the Thackray offers a journey through time and innovation.
Step into the streets of Victorian Leeds, witness surgical procedures in a recreated 19th-century operating theatre, explore a 1970s sexual health clinic, and discover how global responses to crisis have evolved. Through creativity, play, talks, and hands-on experiences, the museum celebrates health heroes while inspiring the next generation of big thinkers.
