Winter Holidays: Seasonal Sniffles
Did you know snot is made up of 95% water? Or that you can make up to 1 litre of mucus every day?
Sneeze the day with Thackray this winter and catch the science behind seasonal sniffles! From coughs and colds to runny noses and sneezes, winter bugs are hard to avoid – but what causes them, how can we dodge them and what remedies really help us bounce back?
Put traditional and herbal remedies under the microscope, from Olbas Oil and eucalyptus to lemon and ginger to discover what’s backed by science.
Designed for children and their curious grown-ups, sniff out the facts through a packed programme of hands-on activities all included in your museum ticket.
This programme is inspired by our latest exhibition Where Magic Grows and in partnership with the RHS, the UK’s gardening charity, helping people and plants grow.
From poo to medicine in space, Thackray Museum uses creativity and play to explore a different medical theme every school holiday.
Hungry for more? Grab your Family Membership and enjoy a year’s worth of school holiday activities for free.
