Meanwood Institute
The Meanwood Institute is a charitable trust and is managed by a voluntary committee which includes the four Trustees.. Its objectives are defined in its constitution as “…. to hold the property of the institute upon trust for the use of the inhabitants of Meanwood and district in the City of Leeds without distinction of political, religious or other opinions, including the use of meetings, lectures and classes, and other forms of recreation and leisure-time occupation, with the object of improving the conditions of life for the said inhabitants.”
The Institute is much used as a meeting place for local groups and societies, exhibitions and children’s parties and includes a fully fitted kitchen
Membership of the Institute is avaliable at an annual £5 charge and gives members access to a snooker room and other facilities.
The institute is a Grade 2 listed building and is a registered charity (No: 1039022).
