Sport in Leeds
Leeds is a city of sporting success. Passion, heart and dedication. Leeds United at Elland Road, and Leeds Rhinos at the Emerald Headingley Stadium. The World Triathlon Series taking to the road. The pace and drama of the Tour de Yorkshire. Whether we’re lacing up our boots, taking to the crease, slipping into lycra, or getting the golf clubs out, we’re a community of the up and active. Looking forward to 2021, we can’t wait to welcome the AJ Bell World Triathlon and the Rugby League World Cup. So why not join us?
Catch local teams in action and soak in the atmosphere at Elland Road and Headingley, or enjoy it from the comfort of one of our many great sports bars – we recommend The Brotherhood of Pursuits and Pastimes or The Dugout at Trinity Kitchen.
In recent years, our annual World Triathlon event has become a favourite, with the chance to see local lads Alistair and Jonny Brownlee in action. Leeds has also become a regular feature in the annual Tour de Yorkshire following the success of the Tour de France Grand Depart in the city.
For those looking to get in on the action, there are excellent facilities available across the city and engaging events year-round. One of our favourites is the Abbey Dash, which takes runners from the historic town hall to the beautiful Kirkstall Abbey and back again.
