Leeds Ceramics Market at Sunken Studio
Led by current members of Sunken Studio, our Ceramics Markets are an opportunity to explore the work being made here in Leeds.
Our markets are coordinated by the makers who make this place special: many of whom joined through our courses and have continued to explore clay on their own terms. Not everyone is turning their practice into a business. Most are pursuing this as a side quest that’s affirming and slow: an antidote to the fast – often frictionless – pace of contemporary life. You’ll meet makers refining techniques, testing glazes, or working through a particular form or idea. What unites them is a shared enthusiasm for making, and the atmosphere of shared stewardship that Sunken Studio supports.
Markets at Sunken Studio reflect that same spirit. You’ll find small-batch, one-off pieces that are thoughtful, personal, and often quietly experimental. For most, it’s about process, working with intent, and the delight of making something from scratch. Leaving suble marks on a pot, person, or place.
You’re welcome to drop in, browse, ask questions, or just have a nosy.
