Leeds Beer Tours rebranding as Tours of Leeds

The multi-award-winning tour provider Leeds Beer Tours has rebranded as Tours of Leeds. First founded in 2019, 2024 opens the beginning of a new chapter for the local and independently run Leeds-based tours.

Founder Mike Hampshire, a Leeds resident for his entire life, first launched with a specialist pub and brewery tour, but has now decided to branch out to include new tours with different themes.

“Launching my own company and running guided tours that showcase the pub heritage and modern beer scene in Leeds has been great fun, but Leeds has a bigger story to tell than just beer,” said Mike. “The name change to Tours of Leeds helps me broaden what my tours are about and gives people who want to do a tour in Leeds even more options than before”

As part of the re-brand, Mike has launched two audio self-guided tours via an app available on Android and Apple and has plans to launch a new guided tour later in 2024.

“My guided heritage pub and brewery tour is still an important part of my tour offering, but in addition I am working on a different themed guided tour that I hope to have ready for Autumn,” said Mike.

“People have busy lives and a timetabled guided tour doesn’t always suit, so I have created some self-guided tours that can be accessed via a smart phone app and enjoyed anytime. These tours are even narrated by me – if you want to hear my voice in your ear that is!”

The app tours include discounted refreshments at independent cafes and bars across Leeds city centre. They also feature a quiz challenge, which involves searching each tour stopping point more closely for the answer to multiple-choice questions. There’s even a leader board to see how well tour participants do against others who have also completed the tour.
