LGBTQ+ Art History Workshop
In this in-person workshop, you will explore landscape art through an LGBTQ+ lens…
In this in-person workshop, you will explore landscape art through an LGBTQ+ lens, discovering how three influential artists – David Hockney, Bhupen Khakhar, and Ethel Sands – used place, colour, and perspective to express identity and experience. you’ll look at key works from each artist, discuss how their lives and viewpoints shaped their approaches to landscape, and consider the social contexts in which they worked.
Guided by these inspirations, you’ll then create your own acrylic landscape paintings, using colour, composition, and mark-making to reflect personal stories and connections to place. This workshop is suitable for all abilities and encourages creative expression, community, and celebration of LGBTQ+ voices in art.
All ticket proceeds will be donated to local charity, Out Together, a local charity for the elderly LGBTQ+ community.
