The Dirties
WE’RE JUST HERE FOR THE BAD GUYS…
Two film-obsessed and co-dependent teenage best friends, Matt and Owen, are making a revenge movie about the bullies who relentlessly target them at school. Feeling that his precious relationship with Owen is beginning to slip, charismatic and wise-cracking edge-lord Matt’s power fantasies begin to take dangerously real shape.
Successfully pulling off the concept of ‘school shooting comedy’, the first feature from Canadian filmmaker Matt Johnson (Nirvanna the Band the Show the Movie, BlackBerry, Tony) is a tragic, raw, hilarious and tender exploration of the feelings and consequences of being a social outcast. Johnson’s unique signature guerilla filmmaking style plays a fascinating role in blurring the lines between art and reality.
