Explore Leeds this summer with the new Love Exploring app
Love Exploring is a NEW, FREE fun way to encourage families to be active together and inspire people of all ages to explore their local parks and discover some of the city’s cultural treasures.
From the start of the school summer holidays, Love Exploring Dinosaur Safaris, games and trails will be available in the following Leeds Parks:
- Roundhay Park
- Middleton Park
- Cross Flatts Park
- Bramley Fall Park
- Armley / Gotts Park
- Temple Newsam
- Meanwood Park
- and along Leeds City Centre Waterfront
Available to download to your smartphone from 23 July, the app lets you join our Dinosaur Safari, through an augmented reality (AR) game. Follow the trail on your smartphone and encounter life-like AR Dinosaurs along the route – each safari features 7 – 9 characters that roar and swish their tails so users can take and share photos of themselves interacting with them.
Use the map on your smartphone to guide you to the nearest dinosaur, you’ll get an alert when you are close, then view it on your screen and take a photo to remember your fun day out! There’s even a dinosaur quiz to play, linked to the national curriculum it will test parents’ and children’s knowledge of the Jurassic age.
As well as the Dinosaur Safari, you’re invited to follow some of Leeds’ well-loved walking trails showcasing some of our city’s highlights; discover the Street Art Trail with its ever-growing collection or relax and unwind on the Mindfulness Trail in Roundhay Park. There are lots of other walks and trails around Leeds City Centre which you can enjoy, so start planning your Summer.
The app and all the activities are also FREE to download from Love Exploring.
