Paint Your Plate: A Painting Workshop with Liz Nast
Join exhibiting artist Liz Nast for a relaxed and creative 3-hour painting workshop inspired by the beauty of everyday life. Taking cues from her exhibition “Up North! Beauty in the Ordinary, Everyday Scenes”, this session invites you to turn a simple meal into a unique work of art.
Bring along a photo of a favourite dish or everyday meal and learn how to transform it into a painted portrait on a round wooden panel. Whether it’s a comforting home-cooked plate or a memorable takeaway, Liz will guide you through techniques in composition, colour, and texture to help bring your subject to life.
Liz Nast’s work celebrates the overlooked moments of daily life, drawing inspiration from towns, cities, and the people who shape them. In this workshop, you’ll explore that same perspective—finding beauty in the ordinary and capturing it in your own distinctive style.
Suitable for all skill levels, this is a chance to slow down, get creative, and see the everyday in a new way.
Please email your chosen image in advance to leah@leftbankleeds.org.uk, we will provide a small selection of images for anyone who forgets!
