Life Support – OPENING EVENT
Since October 2023, Gaza has been largely sealed off from the world, leaving international doctors as vital independent witnesses.
Combining video diaries with measured firsthand accounts, this quietly devastating documentary follows UK medics, including surgeons Nick Maynard and Victoria Rose, and ER doctor James Smith, working alongside heroic Palestinian colleagues. Amid debates over the targeting of medical infrastructure, they document a healthcare system pushed to the brink, from destroyed IVF clinics to Gaza’s only cancer hospital.
Post-Screening Q&A
Followed by a discussion with director Danielle Rugo, featured surgeon Victoria Rose, and Amira Nimerawi (CEO, Health Workers 4 Palestine), chaired by West Yorkshire’s Health Workers 4 Palestine.
