TRAVEL TO HEADINGLEY

 

WHY NOT TRAVEL WITH FIRST BUS ON MATCH DAY?

Download the First Bus App to either book your travel tickets to use shuttle bus service from Leeds City Centre to Headingley or to book your travel tickets from around Leeds and West Yorkshire. Timetable information is also available.

 

Which bus should I use to get to Headingley Stadium?

If you are coming from Leeds City Centre, you can use the R66 shuttle bus service which leaves from Wellington Street (Stop B) which is sign-posted clearly from Leeds Train Station. These buses will drop you off at Kirkstall Lane right outside the Gate G Turnstiles and run every 15 minutes from 5.45pm (last bus is at 7pm)

At the end of the game, the same R66 shuttle bus service departs from Kirkstall Lane every 15 minutes from 8.55pm (last bus is 9.55pm) to drop you back in the city centre at Wellington Street.

To book your shuttle bus fares in advance to ensure you make a saving by booking via the First Bus App under the ‘Promotions’ section, for only £3.50 return for adults and only £1,75 return for juniors (aged 15 & under). If you pay directly on the shuttle bus, the price will increase.

First Bus offer other routes from around Leeds and West Yorkshire to Headingley Stadium with multiple services available.

Tickets can be purchased in advance by using the First Bus App. A single journey adult ticket for anywhere in West Yorkshire (located under the ‘Single’ section) is only £2 or a DaySaver adult ticket is only £4.50 (located under the ‘Day’ section).

 

 

 

OTHER MODES OF TRANSPORT

Or, jump on the Harrogate line train from Leeds train station to Burley Park Station which is just a 5 minute journey then a 5 minute walk to the stadium. Don’t worry if you miss getting off at the next stop, Headingley Stadium which is a 10 minute walk from the cricket ground. Northern Rail are making timetable changes and will be putting on additional trains to and from Headingley for the RLWC from Leeds Station – view the revised timetables here.

Additionally, National Express are running return coach services to several of the huge games from a variety of locations across the UK. Further details are on their website.

For those visiting by car, Headingley stadium is well sign posted from Junction 2 of the M621. To find the stadium on Google Maps click here. A small number of car parking spaces will be made available in either car park K or car park F on a first come first served basis.

 

TRAVEL TO ELLAND ROAD

A matchday shuttle bus service operated by First Leeds Buses, numbered R2, departs from Sovereign Street, adjacent to Leeds station, to the stadium.

Bus numbers 51 / 52 / 55 also travel from Leeds city centre along Elland Road and stop outside of the stadium.

For Rugby League World cup 2021, National Express are also running return coach services to several of the huge games from a variety of locations across the UK. Further details are on their website.

For those arriving by car, Elland Road is adjacent to the intersections of the M1, M62 and M621. To find the stadium on Google Maps click here. There are a number of Leeds City Council controlled car parks situated around the stadium.
