Family Workshop: The Minecraft Sculpture Park
Join Minecraft artist and digital producer Adam Clarke, aka Wizard Keen, to conjure your own magical creature and watch it cross over from the real world into Minecraft!
First, we’ll explore our exhibition Phantasmagoria: Folkloric Sculpture for the Digital Age to meet the strange creatures and magical beasts in our galleries.
Then we’ll head upstairs to get making. Using everyday materials, you’ll craft your own monster, beast, or fantastical being as weird and wonderful as you can imagine. Each creation will then be 3D scanned and transformed, voxel by voxel, into a Minecraft sculpture.
After the workshop, your creature will take up residence in a brand-new Sculpture Park in Minecraft – a shared world you can visit, explore, and show off to your friends.
This workshop is designed for families with children aged 7+. Creativity has no age limit, so adults are encouraged to make too! Children must be accompanied by an adult for the duration of the workshop.
