Jembaa Groove – afrosoul meets highlife direct from Berlin
Superfriendz and DJ Lubi are proud to present Berlin based Afro-fusion/highlife/afro-soul band Jembaa Groove in Leeds this autumn. After a great 2025 show for DJ Lubi at Howard Assembly Room, they return to the city and play Belgrave Music Hall on Saturday 10th October.
Jembaa Groove will launch their 2026 European tour with an invigorated lineup and a collection of brand-new tracks, slated for release in spring 2026. This new chapter sees the band deepening their connection with Lagos’s vibrant Afro-fusion scene. Collaborating with Nigeria’s renowned highlife revivalists The Cavemen, they’ve crafted a modern interpretation of highlife, jazz, and afrobeats, enriched further by guest appearances from Malian icon Fatoumata Diawara, rising Nigerian vocalist Tim Lyre, and London-based soul artist Azekel.
With three album and a couple of singles already released on Berlin label Agogo Records, this summer their latest EP “Be A Lover” joins the list of their discography.
