Regeneration Big Band
The Regeneration Big Band is a formed from the north’s finest jazz musicians – both old and new. Attracting members such as Dale Gibson, Mike Hall, and Robert Howard, the big band thrives on its reputation of dazzling players led by Nigel Ashworth of the Syd Lawrence Orchestra. Nigel set himself the challenge of starting a Big Band that plays all of his own compositions and arrangements – so prepare to hear nothing you’ve heard before, played “exactly how a big band should sound” (Ian Darrington, Wigan Jazz Festival).
This 17 piece big band will present a programme of bebop and swing music from the 40s/50s to the present day, and feature the wonderful vocals of Lydia Rae.
