Is maths the root of everything?
Despite Maths being one of the most popular A Levels in the UK, for most people, learning about numbers stops at 16. Yet, whether you’re budgeting, measuring ingredients, or buying paint, chances are you need basic maths.
In celebration of Leeds becoming the UK’s first ever City of Maths, LIFI is bringing together diverse experts to lift the lid on surprising applications of mathematics, from music and disease modelling to graphic design, construction, and space exploration.
Join Channel 4’s Countdown number whizz, Rachel Riley, and a panel of advocates as they reveal how maths is not about anxiety-inducing formulas, but a powerful tool for tackling some of society’s biggest challenges.
