Radical Reading Room
The Radical Reading Room is hosting a reading group discussion on ๐๐ฒ๐ฐ๐ฒ๐บ๐ฏ๐ฒ๐ฟ ๐ฏ, ๐ฑ.๐ฏ๐ฌ-๐ณ๐ฝ๐บ at the Hyde Park Book Club, as part of the events connected to exhibition ‘Solidarity is a Verb’ curated by Saba Siddiqui for Hyde Park Art Club.
For this session, we are reading ๐ ๐ฃ๐ฟ๐ผ๐ด๐ฟ๐ฎ๐บ๐บ๐ฒ ๐ผ๐ณ ๐๐ฏ๐๐ผ๐น๐๐๐ฒ ๐๐ถ๐๐ผ๐ฟ๐ฑ๐ฒ๐ฟ: ๐ฟ๐๐๐ค๐ก๐ค๐ฃ๐๐ฏ๐๐ฃ๐ ๐ฉ๐๐ ๐๐ช๐จ๐๐ช๐ข by Franรงoise Vergรจs. A book that strips away the veneer of the universal Western museum to reveal its origins as the foundation of liberal ideology, with a foreword by Paul Gilroy and translated by Melissa Thackway.
To participate, make sure you read the book in advance, or the parts that interest you the most. During the Radical Reading Room, we’ll read passages, discuss and explore questions together. The event is free but places are limited please register your place.

Radical Reading Room is a project set up with Pluto Press in 2021. Leeds is one of a handful of cities on the project, including Newcastle, Brighton and others that have been developing the project. RRR includes a monthly book club, a free library and regular author events with panel guests. The session is led by Sarah Autumn.
Pluto Press is a radical political publishing house. Founded in 1969, it is one of the worldโs oldest radical publishers, and our focus remains making interventions in contemporary struggles. On the exhibition’s curated shelves, you can find and buy a selection of books from Pluto Press.
