Children’s Day
We’re very excited to invite you to our Children’s Day during October half-term, as part of Farsley Lit Fest. We will have THREE exciting one-hour long Children’s Author Workshops and a fantastic BOOK SIGNING. We have included an age recommendation for each workshop but they are ALL suitable for ALL the family. You are welcome to join one, two, three or all four of the events. The events are priced as just £2 per child, per session.

A Halloween-Themed Storytelling Session with Picture Book Author Frances Stickley
11am – 12pm
Expect troublesome trolls, greedy goblins and ‘orrible ogres from the bestselling Swamp series.

Storytime and Book Signing with The Yorkshire Shepherdess, Amanda Owen
12 – 12.45pm
The Star of Our Yorkshire Farm and Channel 4’s Our Farm Next Door will be reading a story as part of her book signing to mark the release of her new children’s books. If you would like one or both of the books, we recommend purchasing a family ticket below.

Change the World with Kate Pankhurst in a letter designing & stamping workshop
1pm – 2pm
Author and illustrator Kate is celebrating 10 years of the million-copy-selling Fantastically Great Women series with this inspiring activity based on her new interactive book.
Perfect for 5 – 9 year olds / Remarkable women in history / Empowering
Magical Character Creation and Storywriting with Liz Flanagan
2.30pm – 3.30pm
Award-winning author Liz will introduce her new fantasy adventure, The Moonlight Dragon. Children will be invited to create a magical creature and the perfect habitat for it to flourish in, before starting a story of their own.
Perfect for 7 – 11 year olds / Themes of climate change & rewilding / Friendship focus
EVENT DETAILS
Each workshop event is just £2 per child. All children must be accompanied by an adult.
Adults are FREE but do require a ticket. Any under 2s coming with older children are also free. They do not require a ticket.
There is an option to buy Family Tickets for the book signing with Amanda Owen which include a copy of her book. There are two options for two different books. The Family Tickets are the price of the books (no added extra cost). The event is free for all to attend. Ordering a book in advance will guarantee you have a copy to get signed on the day.
There will be a selection of ALL the authors’ books available to buy (and get signed on the day).
