Don Giovanni
Lust, lies and a little light murder.
Mozart’s dark comedy of lust, obsession and retribution is brought to life in this inventive five-star staging.
The ultimate notorious womaniser, Don Giovanni travels across Europe indulging his every impulse with complete disregard for the consequences, even when his actions lead to murder. But as his charm wears thin to reveal a ruthless, toxic masculinity, his past catches up with him, leading to a dramatic showdown with forces beyond his control.
Director Alessandro Talevi reimagines Mozart’s classic opera in an eclectic production that spans time and space. Unsettling, dramatic and laugh-out-loud funny, the story is powered by vibrant characters and iconic music performed live by the Orchestra and Chorus of Opera North.
Performed in Italian with English subtitles, this operatic masterpiece offers a compelling mix of dark humour and musical power, making it an ideal choice for opera regulars and newcomers alike.
