CoDA – Rachel Clarke Dance Company
CoDA is a semi-autobiographical work-in-progress sharing which explores the liminal space between both the D/deaf and Hearing worlds through a multidisciplinary collaboration by Rachel Clarke Dance Company.
This contemporary performance explores the tensions that exist in a space that Children of Deaf Adults inhabit between the Hearing and D/deaf communities. Drawing upon Rachel’s personal experience as a CoDA, the work takes a look at different modes of communication and translation in both D/deaf and Hearing Cultures. Finding a space for the individual identity of a CoDA and not just a bridge between the two worlds.
