James An’s K-Hip Hop Workshop, as part of Leeds Korean Day Festival.
Learn how to make hip hop with James An, a Seoul-based rapper who writes about racism, societal norms and everyday life. In this hands-on workshop you’ll try writing your own bars, play with how Korean and English sit against a beat, and hear how a working artist builds a verse — from first idea to something you can perform.
James An placed in the Top 30 on *Show Me The Money 10*, was runner-up with Block 3 on TVING’s *Rap:Public*, and was the sole opening act on BIBI’s first North American tour. He also founded the first hip hop education conference at Harvard University.
No experience needed; bring a notebook and whatever language you think in.
