Palestine 36 – Festival Highlight
In partnership with Hyde Park Picture House.
A highlight of the Festival and Leeds premiere, also Palestine’s submission to 2025 Oscars.
Annemarie Jacir’s Palestine 36 is a powerful and gripping drama set in 1936 under the British Mandate. Following Yusuf and his community as strikes spread and loyalties are tested, the film blends intimate family moments with the sweep of history.
Expect a rich detail film event, and questions that linger long after the credits.
Before the screening, Paul Rogers, will provide a brief background to the period to set the scene.
Countries supporting: Palestine, UK, Frances, Denmark, Jordan, Qatar, Saudi Arabia
Arabic, with English subtitles
