Introduction to Collagraph Printing – Print Festival 2026
Join illustrator and printmaker Abbie Mooney for an introduction to collagraph to create your own abstract prints.
Collagraph is a traditional print technique that relies on building layers of texture that can hold ink to transfer your design from plate to paper. In this introductory session, Abbie will guide you through the process of layering textures and marks, and building tone, to create unique printing plates, both abstract and illustrative, that will then be inked up and hand printed to create a range of original artworks.
This workshop is perfect for beginners or those who have tried other printmaking processes before as you will be equipped with the skills to combine new and familiar techniques to make artwork that is personal to you.
You will leave the workshop with a selection of handmade prints and your original collagraph plate to reuse as you wish.
This session is suitable for beginners and those over the age of 16 when accompanied by an adult.
This workshop is taking place as part of our Print Festival. Find out more > https://www.sunnybankmills.co.uk/arts/print-festival-2026
