Conservation: Today and Tomorrow
Learn what’s being done now to safeguard the natural world, explore challenges facing wildlife tomorrow, and decide what you will pledge to do to help create a healthier planet for future generations. Let’s inspire the conservationists of tomorrow!
Explore and take action
Browse our conservation displays and pick up something that helps wildlife thrive. From bee bombs and butterfly feeders to bug hotels and more, every purchase supports nature.
Bee Walk
Head into Roundhay Park and follow our buzzing bee trail. How many different bumblebee species can you spot along the way?
Keeper talks
Join our knowledgeable Keepers for a daily talk at 2pm, and learn more about the conservation projects we’re proud to be part of.
Children’s craft activities
Drop into our Activity Room for hands on fun or enjoy some relaxing colouring time. Children must be supervised by an adult at all times.
Tropical World Café
Refuel with something delicious. Choose from fresh sandwiches, salads, hot snacks, soups, jacket potatoes, toasted sandwiches and paninis. The Tropical Lookout will be open (weather permitting) for grab‑and‑go treats, including sizzling slices or whole stone‑baked pizzas straight from our pizza oven.
A perfect family day out
Whatever the weather, Tropical World is warm, vibrant and full of life. Wander through our indoor rainforest, meet incredible animals, and enjoy a day packed with discovery.
