Back a Yard – A 40th Carnival Reggae Anniversary Celebration
Join Hosts : “Ital Roots” for an afternoon & early evening of live vinyl music playing in a family friendly atmosphere selecting the finest “Reggae” & “Hip Hop” music collection from 4pm in store til 10.30pm. Book “Open Decks” – Required to specifically genres playing Reggae, Dancehall, Ska inspired Music & Hip Hop for this special anniversary celebration
….The Vinyl Whistle Record Store will have a late opening in the heart of bustling Headingley a mixed residential area as they celebrate the “40 years” of Leeds Cultural Music Heritage of Reggae and Hip Hop music artists where the city has become it’s hosts during the Leeds West Indian Carnival weekend & residents share memories.
This unique carnival family event will provide opportunity to purchase records in the store beyond it’s usual opening hours and you can gain opportunity to sit, relax or ska jam with your friends, family or new student house mates & catch a vibe.
The New Independent Business Owners – Neil and Adam share their pride in supporting “Women in Music” in Leeds & therefore the evenings primary hosts : Nattylyn (DJ Natty Bongo Congo I – sharing her Rastafarian Faith & DJ KC & guests – a talented MC & DJ within the Chapeltown Community of Leeds.
Reggae, Dancehall, Folk, Ska, Rocksteady – Celebrating 40 years of Carnival Reggae in Leeds with this Live Vinyl “Open Decks” – opportunity to play Reggae in n a relaxed, family friendly, boutique hub off de main Otley Rd .
4pm til 7.30pm (open decks slots) then 7.30 -10.30pm (night) – children to be supervised at all times & bring headphones if required, it’s a small boutique space
Join us on a PAYF (cash collection) suggested £5 payable on the day/night..
