Stick Man in concert

12th December 2026

Join us this Christmas for the animated film based on the much-loved children’s picture book written by Julia Donaldson and illustrated by Axel Scheffler.

TICKETS COMING SOON

Stick Man tells the tale of a happy go lucky fathers’ epic journey to make it home in time for Christmas, brought to life in The Brodrick Hall by The Leeds Conservatoire orchestra, who will also be performing timeless Christmas classics for all the family before and after the film. This award-winning animation is from Magic Light Pictures, producers of the hugely successful The Gruffalo, The Gruffalo’s Child and Room on the Broom films.

‘Witty and wise’ -The Telegraph

“Stick Man lives in the family tree with his Stick Lady Love and their stick children three.”

Join Stick Man on an incredible adventure across the seasons as he runs from a playful dog, gets thrown in a river, escapes from a swan’s nest and even ends up on top of a fire.
Will he get back to his family in time for Christmas?

Featuring the voices of Hugh Bonneville (Santa), Rob Brydon (Snail, Park-keeper, Swan Dad, Frog, Beach Dad, Crab & Cat), Martin Freeman (Stick Man), Sally Hawkins (Stick Lady, Pigeon, Swan Mum, Robin), Jennifer Saunders (Narrator), Russell Tovey (Dog).

The production is approximately 45 minutes long.

Important information
Relaxed performance – At 11am there is a relaxed performance with a reduced number of tickets on sale. This performance is particularly suitable for people who prefer a less busy environment. Please note – the performance includes a live orchestra; ear defenders will be available.

Wheelchair users – All performances will include a number of wheelchair spaces with companion seats available next to them.

If you have any questions about access requirements, the relaxed performance or wheelchair spaces please email us on city.museum@leeds.gov.uk

Essential companion tickets – A free essential companion ticket is available for caregivers. This requires a valid ticket for the guest requiring assistance. This must be booked in advance by contacting Leeds Ticket Hub via email or phone.

View – In the Stalls area, a circular rig is suspended from the ceiling and may partially obstruct the view of the screen above the orchestra.

Extra legroom – The Balcony features traditional heritage theatre seating with more limited legroom. For additional comfort and extra legroom, we recommend booking seats in the Stalls.

Balcony – We recommend the Balcony for children aged 8 and over, as the balcony railing may restrict views for younger or smaller children. For safety, all children seated in the Balcony must have their own seat and cannot sit on an accompanying adult’s lap.

Children under 1 – Babe in arms tickets are available for those bringing a child under 1 that doesn’t require their own seat.
