Classics in the Square
The Orchestra of Opera North brings orchestral music straight into Millennium Square for a relaxed, open-air performance in the heart of the city. This event strips away traditional concert hall rules and dress codes, offering a straightforward, welcoming introduction to live classical music for families and those looking for a different night out in Leeds.
The programme features a mix of recognisable pieces, from epic film scores like Star Wars, Superman, and Jurassic Park, to well-known television theme tunes and sporting anthems. Played live by an orchestra of over sixty musicians, the evening aims to showcase the scale and power of these famous compositions in the vibrant outdoor setting. Audiences also have the chance to shape the performance by voting for some of the pieces on the setlist ahead of the event via the Opera North website.
Tickets are available on a pay what you can basis, making the event open to everyone.
Supported by Laidlaw Opera Trust and part of Leeds 400 celebrations.
