Eddi Reader
With more than forty years in the industry, Eddi Reader brings her genre-spanning sound to the Howard Assembly Room – a performance that moves between traditional Scottish folk, pop, soul, and jazz.
First coming to prominence as the frontwoman of Fairground Attraction with the chart-topping ‘Perfect’, Reader has since established a prolific solo career. Her work is defined by an ability to reinterpret a wide range of material while maintaining a distinctive and heartfelt voice. Across ten solo albums, she has explored diverse musical territories – from her deep-rooted connection to Scottish folk to contemporary singer-songwriter styles.
Her recent schedule has included an extensive “40 Years Live” tour and guest appearances with Jools Holland’s Rhythm & Blues Orchestra. Beyond her musical output, Reader has also worked as an actress, appearing in BBC Scotland’s Your Cheatin’ Heart and Richard Linklater’s Orson & Me.
The Sunday Times has previously noted that “Eddi Reader gets every song just right”, while R2 Magazine has described her live work as “world class”.
Presented in partnership with Hurricane Promotions.
