Kim Harley-Griffiths Exhibition Launch At The Sculpture Gallery
Please join us on Sunday, 2nd August for our usual First Sunday of the Month launch for our latest Guest Exhibition. Kim Harley-Griffiths will be here to talk about her work, and there will be an opportunity to sample delicious wine supplied by our partner, Terra Sarda Wines.
Kim is an outstanding ceramicist who grew up in North Wales and only recently discovered the tactile, transformative qualities of clay, a medium truly in tune with her vision. Her journey as an artist began as a children’s book illustrator, constantly developing her drawing and painting skills.
She enjoys exploring the delicate line between the human, animal and mythical metamorphosis and how animals and birds move with power and grace. Kim has always believed that the essence of capturing nature is not through rigid precision; it must be felt, embraced and translated through spontaneous, gestural mark making.
Kim draws inspiration from the rich tapestry of Welsh mythology, rituals and their haunting narratives. Working with clay allows her to bring her creatures and mythical figures to life where touch and form merge to tell stories of folklore, nature, and transformation.
The exhibition concludes on Monday, 31st August.
