LGBTQ+ History Month with the Angels and friends
It’s our chance to honour the trailblazers who came before us and to celebrate everything still to come. This year’s theme is Science and Innovation, and we’re bringing a little of that spirit outdoors with a nature‑immersive adult forest school session, plus (weather permitting!) poetry and music around the campfire (or inside a barn if it’s not!).
But more than anything, this year is about community. Caring for it, growing it, and celebrating it together.
Join us at Meanwood Urban Valley Farm on Sunday 22 February!
4:30pm – 6:30pm
Take part in an LGBTQIA+ adult forest school session led by Yorkshire Woodland Learning – an opportunity to experiment, explore, and connect with nature in creative ways.
6:30pm – 8.30pm
Settle in by the farm’s campfire for an evening of poetry and music from our incredible Leeds LGBTQ+ community. There is some seating available, but feel free to bring your own just in case!
Our confirmed performers include:
The Unedited Poet / Goodnight the Skye / Fredster / Natisapoet / Marinduque / Kaeya / Morgan Song / Jack Collins / Jay Ghadia / Ezekiel Foster‑Eardley
Community Stalls (5pm – 8pm, drop‑in anytime):
Visit LGBTQ+ groups, organisations, and charities from across Leeds in the barn space, shared, delightfully, with some holidaying donkeys who (regretfully) don’t run any LGBTQ+ groups… but may still be open to discussing snacks.
Come for the activities, stay for the atmosphere, and help us make this year’s History Month event our most community‑centred yet.
Thanks to funding from Being You Leeds, we’re delivering this event as part of a series of FREE monthly events to celebrate our LGBTQ+ communities. These events are all about getting outdoors, enjoying a bit of physical activity, and connecting with others, while trying something new and creative together.
