Natural Dye Workshop: Silk Scarves
Join textile artist and owner of ocre natural dye studio, Kayleigh Davis for an exciting day exploring natural pigments to create your own naturally dyed silk scarf at Harewood House.
This event is suitable for beginners and those who have some experience of natural dyes already.
The session will start off with an introduction into natural dyeing, and how pigments can be embedded into textiles. Kayleigh will then demonstrate a variety of natural dye techniques including; dip-dyeing, bundling, hammering and painting, with a selection of prepared natural dyes, plants and food waste to create amazing plant-based prints.
You will then use these techniques to create your own beautiful naturally dyed silk scarf to be treasured for years to come.
Everything you’ll need for this event will be provided.
